Student Photo Competition: Europe's future is...

Under the auspices of Minister of State for Culture and the Media Prof. Monika Grütters MdB the Center for Applied European Studies (CAES) of the Frankfurt University for Applied Sciences is looking for a photograph on the subject:

“Europe's future is …”

This may be a symbol for liberty, justice, mutuality, for a path or a direction which should be followed by the whole community.

The jury panel represented by the CAES executive board is predominantly focused on two criteria: innovation and force of expression. 

Submission Deadline:

April 3, 2017

Prizes:

1st prize – € 1000

2nd prize – € 600

3rd prize – € 300 

Procedure:

Find appropriate motives and take a picture of them. Please send your photograph digitally with a minimum resolution of 2.480 x 5.508 pixel in JPEG format (max. 10 MB) to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or as a hard copy printout to

The official award ceremony will take place on May 11, 2017. Your presence is desired. Travel expenses within Europe will be reimbursed for the three prize winners up to a maximum of € 300. This only applies for 2nd class train tickets or a flight in the economy class if the original train or flight ticket has been submitted. We will compensate travel expenses for journeys by car up to a maximum of € 300 with an allowance of € 0.30 per kilometer traveled. You will have to use public transport (RMV) to get from the airport/railway station to the award ceremony. The Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences will reimburse the costs for trips by taxi in exceptional cases if you received a written approval from us before your trip and submitted afterwards the original travel receipt.

Conditions of Participation:

All students studying in Europe are entitled to participate (please enclose your enrollment certification to prove your student status).

Consent to Transfer Agreement:

By submitting your photograph(s) you confirm that, being the creator, you possess all rights concerning the photograph(s) which was/were submitted to the Student Photo Competition and that this/these photograph(s) is/are free of any rights of third parties. 

Furthermore, you confirm your consent to transfer free of charge the exclusive, irrevocable, transferable right of use, which is unlimited in terms of time, space, quantity and content, to the Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences for all known types of application or those which may become known in future for the purposes of exhibition and publication. Accordingly, the Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences cannot rule out that the submitted and exhibited photograph(s) will be stored, reproduced and published worldwide.

When you win a prize for your photograph(s) or an amended form of the submitted photograph(s), you confirm your consent, after you received the corresponding prize money, to transfer the exclusive, irrevocable, transferable right of use, which is unlimited in terms of time, space, quantity and content, to the Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences for all known types of application or those which may become known in future. The right of use, which may be also exercised by third parties, includes in particular the right to complete or partial duplication, distribution, adaptation, change and worldwide publication of your photograph(s). The extent and type of publication will be determined by the Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences. No further consent is required for the complete or partial exercise of these rights. The judges’ decision is final.
